Lakeside Animal Art

Lakeside Animal Art

Artists of all abilities are invited to join us in some lakeside animal art, overlooking the stunning lake and surrounds, to mark the commencement of an exciting new public art project at Lake Broadwater Recreation Reserve.

Bring the whole family, throw down a rug and enjoy a day of art and animal-eye-spy. There will be drawing supplies, covered and uncovered areas, and a coffee van serving hot and cold refreshments!

Saturday 1 March, from 9.30am

About the project

Western Downs Regional Council are commissioning a new artwork to be located at Lake Broadwater Recreation Reserve. Artist Frederick Beel is designing a series of playful animal sculptures inspired by Lake Broadwater’s native wildlife. The animals will appear like storybook characters throughout the landscape, inviting visitors on a journey of discovery.
