I chose a palette of colours to represent the crops and products grown and manufactured on the Western Downs. Wheat, oats, sorghum, cotton, cattle, coal and gas to mention a few. Our assets can benefit all. With good stewardship of the land practiced by most farmers, graziers, and miners we can enjoy the magic nature has to offer. It was a joy to paint a landscape representing our district this year, as we are experiencing an abundant season. This contrasts with the many years of drought in the recent past, thus proving the regenerative powers of nature.
